2020 AHMA Annual Meeting

The Affordable Housing Management Association of Washington (AHMA)  normally holds their annual meeting during the convention.  The election of board members takes place in this meeting.

In accordance with the Amended and Restated Bylaws of the Affordable Housing Management Association (AHMA) of Washington and under the applicable sections of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW):

OFFICIAL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF: The annual meeting of the membership will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.  Given the extenuating circumstances of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Annual Meeting will be conducted via webinar.

OFFICIAL NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN OF:

The following motion will be presented at the Annual Meeting:

Approve the merger of ARHC and AHMA of Washington, to be effected by the dissolution of the corporate status of ARHC and transfer of ARHC assets to AHMA, and authorize the AHMA of Washington Board of Directors to take such further actions as are necessary and appropriate to effect the merger.

The AHMA of Washington Board of Directors strongly encourages the membership to approve the merge.

OFFICIAL NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN OF:

Nominations are being sought to fill SEVEN (7) seats on the Board of Directors, the terms for which expire this year.  The newly-elected Directors will join NINE (9) other Directors (or their replacements appointed by the Board of Directors) who were elected to two-year terms last year, in 2019.  

Currently, five (5) incumbent Board members whose terms are expiring are:

  • Spencer Anderson, United Marketing; Seattle; Vice President
  • Deneen Mulligan, Coast Property Management; Everett
  • Dawn Nielsen, Michaels Management Affordable; Seattle
  • Elsie Janson, Pike Place Market PDA, Seattle
  • Jason Hainsworth, Hainsworth Laundry, Spokane
    represents the Associate Members and is a non-voting member of the Board
There are also two (2) incumbent Board members whose terms are expiring and are not seeking re-election:
  • Holly Anderson, Catholic Charities-Yakima; Past President;
  • Tali Reiner, Security Properties Residential, Seattle;

These nine (9) Board members were elected last year, and have one year remaining to serve:

  • Pamela Benoit, REACH CDC, Portland;
  • Colleen Carr, Allied Residential, Renton; 
  • Glori Houston,Catholic Charities Eastern Wa, Spokane;
  • Michelle Hawley, Bellwether Housing, Seattle; President;
  • Susan Meyers, Pan Pacific Properties, Seattle;
  • Robert Oley, Guardian Management, Portland; Secretary 
  • Karen Sexton, Indigo Real Estate Services, Marysville; 
  • Kevin Weishaar, Mercy Housing, Seattle; and
  • Warren Westad, Ad-West Realty Services, Bellevue

Board seats can only be filled by, and nominations can only come from, Members in Good Standing. Nominations may come from the floor at the Annual Meeting.

DEADLINE

The deadline to nominate someone for either board is Friday, April 17, 2020.
