Participants will receive a step-by-step description of the requirements for the HUD Multifamily Section 8 program, how to implement what you have learned into your everyday role as a property owner or manager and ultimately how to achieve five-star regulatory compliance. This course will be a comprehensive review of the HUD's Occupancy Handbook, 4350.3, REV 1, Change 4.

  • How to properly calculate rent
  • Income and adjusted income determination
  • Certification types
  • Maintaining your Waiting List
  • File Set-up Best Practices
  • Utility Allowances
  • EIV and How to Address EIV Income

This course is ideal for the most experienced property manager as well as staff with less than one year working with Multifamily Project Based Section 8. Learn how to easily navigate through the HUD Handbook.

This course is recommended as a pre-requisite to the Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) course.
