NAHMA HUD Update: HUD Online Tool Helps Residents Locate Nearby Food, Shelter, Clothing, and Healthcare resourcesJanuary 14, 2021 Dear NAHMA Members, HUD today introduced the Find Shelter tool, a new online resource developed to help individuals and families in need locate nearby resources, such as food and shelter. Specifically, users can search for local facilities that provide shelter, clothing, health clinics, and food pantries to those in need. The Find Shelter tool provides mapping and contact information for these service providers and the site is optimized for mobile use in case residents don’t have access to a computer. The tool is designed to help community members serve their neighbors in need, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The site also includes downloadable, printable posters and palm cards that can be displayed near publicly available computers for individuals and families looking to locate resources. |
