NAHMA LIHTC Update: Public Comment Invited on Recommendations for 2021-2022 Priority Guidance Plan

Dear NAHMA Members,

Today, the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) published Notice 2021-28 inviting public comment on recommendations for items that should be included on the 2021-2022 Priority Guidance Plan.  Kindly send us any comments on administrative guidance priorities for the Treasury Department and the IRS by May 21st, 2021.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Tax Policy and the IRS use the Priority Guidance Plan each year to identify and prioritize tax issues to be addressed through administrative guidance.  The 2021-2022 Priority Guidance Plan will identify guidance projects that Treasury and IRS intend to work on during the period from July 1st, 2021 to June 30th, 2022.

NAHMA plans to submit recommendations for the Priority Guidance Plan regarding the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and related affordable housing issues.  Please send us any recommendations for guidance priorities by Friday, May 21st, 2021.
