NAHMA Update: Treasury Issues New FAQs for Emergency Rental Assistance Program; $21.6 Billion Allocated to State/Local Governments

May 7, 2021

Dear NAHMA Members,

Today, the Department of Treasury has published frequently asked questions (FAQs) to be used as guidance for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP 1 enacted on December 2020 and ERAP 2 enacted on March 2021). The new guidance is intended to enhance the effort to prevent evictions and to ensure those requiring new housing have the financial support needed while addressing complaints of a funding bottleneck at the state and local levels.
