Second hand smoke contains more than 4,000 substances, several of which are known to cause cancer in humans and animals. The benefits of implementing non-smoking policies in affordable housing communities far outweigh the arguments of smokers to be allowed to smoke in their housing unit.

• Safer indoor air environment for staff
• Decreased KCHA expenses relative to unit turns
